Pat Conover: Sharing the Journey
Political

Sunset Seven by omdea

I've been involved in political activity almost all of my adult life. I look on politics as a grand conversation about how we should govern ourselves and to what purposes. I'm just sad about the fact that we are often so graceless in the United States in political conversation, so prone to work for narrow advantages rather than the common good.

On March 22, 2008 I added a piece on Christian Political Speech which can be found below under Advocacy Resources. It was prompted by the attacks on Jeremiah Wright but is a piece I have been meaning to write for a long time and finally got around to. In it I develop the theme that there is more to Christian political speech than the the speech of Judeo-Christian prophets, important as that is. I also look at the grounding of Christian political speech in the comments of Priests, such as Moses, and Kings, such as David. This isn't my best or most complete writing on this topic but I hope you will find it of some value.
